The price of domestic hot coils in Europe is stable, and the competitiveness of imported resources is increasing

Market transactions were slow this week due to the European Easter holiday (April 1-April 4). Nordic mills once wanted to raise the price of   to €900/t EXW ($980/t), but the feasible price is expected to be around €840-860/t. Affected by the two fires, some of ArcelorMittal’s  supply was interrupted, which affected southern European customers who had ordered hot coil before, and buyers had to seek imported hot coil resources. The delivery period of hot coil resources in central Europe is mainly concentrated in June, and the market price is around 870 euros/ton. The price in Northern Europe is around 860 Euro/ton. On the whole, the domestic HRC in Europe has increased by around 15 Euro/ton week-on-week and 50 Euro/ton month-on-month.

An Italian long-term process  mill offers hot coils at 890 Euros/ton EXW for June-July delivery, but the feasible price is around 870 Euros/ton EXW. The extension of delivery time and poor demand from end customers have led to Italian The market was also relatively quiet during the Easter break. At the same time, the price difference between domestic and foreign markets has further widened, and the delivery time of European domestic steel mills has increased (almost the same as the import time), so imported resources have become more attractive to buyers. Currently, India imports HRC at EUR 770/ton CFR Italy, Vietnam and South Korea imports HRC at EUR 775/ton CFR Italy, and Japan imports HRC at about EUR 830/ton CFR Italy.
