In December 2021, the crude steel output of the 64 countries included in the statistics of the World Steel Association was 158.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.0%.

The top ten countries in crude steel production

In December 2021, China’s crude steel output was 86.2 million tons, down 6.8% year-on-year;

India’s crude steel output was 10.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.9%;

Japan’s crude steel output was 7.9 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%;

U.S. crude steel output was 7.2 million tons, an increase of 11.9% year-on-year;

The estimated output of crude steel in Russia is 6.6 million tons, flat year-on-year;

South Korea’s crude steel output was 6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%;

German crude steel output was 3.1 million tons, an increase of 0.1% year-on-year;

Turkey’s crude steel output was 3.3 million tons, down 2.3% year-on-year;

Brazil’s crude steel output was 2.6 million tons, down 11.4% year-on-year;

Iran’s crude steel output is estimated at 2.8 million tons, up 15.1% year-on-year.
