In order to enhance building safety, Hong Kong has clarified the full process specifications for the use of galvanized ground piles: products with a zinc layer thickness of ≥ 85 μ m and in compliance with GB/T 13912 standards must be selected. Geological surveys must be conducted before construction, and certified personnel must use specialized equipment for standardized installation, strictly controlling verticality and burial depth. After installation, it is necessary to undergo tensile and compressive testing as well as fire stability verification. Unqualified products are strictly prohibited from entering the site to avoid safety hazards from the source.
Hong Kong has established a long-term regulatory mechanism for galvanized ground piles, requiring regular inspections of exposed parts, increasing frequency after extreme weather, and timely repair of rust and zinc layer damage. At the same time, establish a usage ledger, clarify the upper limit of the 30-year service life, and mandate the replacement of expired or damaged ground piles. The government will also strengthen special inspections and training for practitioners to maximize their advantages in corrosion prevention, fire prevention, and stability.
